Manny is a financial consultant with a passion for languages. His current interests include teaching Spanish, Italian and Tagalog at Languages Internationale. Before joining Languages Internationale, he had been a Spanish tutor and translator since his college days. He was exposed to English, Filipino, Cebuano, Pampango, Italian and Spanish at an early age as he grew up in places where these languages were spoken. His later studies of Spanish in Spain gave him the opportunity to study other European languages, especially Latin, which facilitated his understanding and appreciation of the other Romance languages, especially French and Italian. His experience as a student of a foreign language has helped him develop an awareness of, and responsiveness to, the concerns of his language students. Varying his pedagogy depending on the circumstances of his students, he combines the direct method of conversing exclusively in the language being taught with the audio-visual approach—where teaching aids like videos, audio CDs, and PowerPoint presentations are used to aid pronunciation and vocabulary building—, and the situational language approach, where situations are simulated as realistically as possible in order to induce the students to use and learn the language in the proper context.

Manny has also provided management training to corporate clients. He has delivered a course on Professional Courtesy to executive secretaries and hotel staff, under the auspices of Language Internationale and RMP Consultancy. He also helps in developing other relevant management courses for entrepreneurs, managers and supervisors.
